Responsibilities Position is within a PACU unit in a short-term acute care, Magnet and teaching hospitalPatient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients recovering from various surgical proceduresUnit handles post-op recovery for neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general surgery, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant patientsNo recovery of open heart surgeries or liver transplants38 patient bays with an average daily census of 70-90Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (Monday–Friday), with rotating start times as neededNo weekend or on-call shifts requiredFloating required to PACU or PreOp units onlyEPIC charting system is used and experience is requiredNavy blue scrubs requiredMain responsibilities include recovering a broad range of post-op surgical patients, including those with artificial airways and invasive monitoringSupport provided by dedicated PCT/transport teamAll staff required to float only within the service line for PACU and PreOp as neededFit testing required; facial hair must not interfere with fit testingNo more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during the first weekPermanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a travelerStandard travelers may stay for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month breakParking available for $15/day or $70/month Requirements Active MO or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent critical care and Phase I PACU experienceRequired certifications: BLS and ACLSExperience with Level I Trauma Center operationsSkills in dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patientsEPIC charting experience requiredMust reside at least 75 miles from the facility (no local candidates)First-time travelers are accepted Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-635471.
