Responsibilities Work in a hospital setting floating between ICU and PCU unitsPatient ratios: ICU average 2:1, PCU average 5:1Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 pm to 7:15 amFloating to different units may occur 2-3 times per shift based on staffing needsCharting completed using EPIC; experience requiredWeekend schedule may require every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week blockMust work one holiday during the 13-week contractResponsible for advanced patient care including medication titration, complex wound care, and cardiac monitoringMust provide respiratory support to patients using BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilatorsWork within a large, acute care hospital with a fast-paced, Level 1 trauma environmentFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyAll time off, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted with the applicationMust comply with hospital's call off policy, which may include one shift cancellation every two weeks Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required; pending license accepted from non-compact statesCurrent certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience preferredExperience at a large Level 1 or Level 2 facility is requiredProficient in IV therapy including arterial line and central/PICC line careSkilled in managing BiPAP, CPAP, ventilated patient care, and wound vacsAble to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, administer emergency meds, and interpret cardiac dysrhythmiasExperience implementing IV insulin protocolsTwo professional references needed for consideration Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-654727.
