ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: ICU - Intensive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: 02/02/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelOpportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Work as Whole House Resource Pool RN floating between ICU, PCU, and MS units • 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, 3 shifts per week (4x12s available by request) • Must be comfortable working all three specialties with patient ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1, MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1) • Float requirements: May float 2-3 times per shift as staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block • Must work one holiday per 13-week contract (2 holidays during winter season) • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • EPIC charting experience required • Must have 2 years of ICU experience from a large Level I/II facility • Clinical skills required: IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, titrating cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications • 24 hours of orientation provided • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period • Accept first-time travelers and local candidates (with radius restrictions) • Work with adults and geriatric patients • Interdisciplinary support includes PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more Facility: This is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital serving as a flagship medical facility in the region. The hospital holds Level I Trauma Center designation for both adult and pediatric patients and maintains Magnet recognition for nursing excellence. The facility features advanced specialty care services, a dedicated children's hospital, and certification as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. As a teaching hospital affiliated with a medical school, it provides comprehensive healthcare services with cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practices.
