The Institute for OB/GYN is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Women's Health Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough women's health assessments, taking detailed medical histories, performing physical examinations, and carrying out preventive screenings.
- Diagnose and treat common women's health issues such as reproductive health disorders, menstrual irregularities, menopausal symptoms, and gynecological infections.
- Offer family planning services, including comprehensive contraceptive counseling, and educating patients on reproductive health options.
- Perform routine gynecological exams such as Pap smears and breast evaluations to ensure early detection of potential health issues.
- Manage comprehensive prenatal care for expectant mothers, including regular check-ups, fetal development monitoring, and education surrounding pregnancy and childbirth.
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians and other specialists to create integrated care plans for pregnant patients to ensure optimal maternal and fetal health.
- Provide educational resources and counseling on sexual and reproductive health, including sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention and fertility awareness.
- Order and assess diagnostic tests, interpreting results to guide treatment decisions and develop appropriate care strategies.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patients' progress, managing treatment plans effectively.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions in electronic health record (EHR) systems to support continuity of care.
- Engage actively in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in women's health through ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Possession of a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas.
- Board certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in women's health, ideally in primary care or an OB/GYN setting.
- Strong foundational knowledge of women's health issues, including gynecological health, reproductive needs, prenatal care, and management of menopause.
- Empathy, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach are paramount in this role.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of one year of experience in a women's health role is required, candidates with prior experience in an academic or educational setting, particularly in school-based health services, will be highly regarded. Familiarity with community outreach and patient education initiatives will also be beneficial, as we aim to empower our patients through knowledge and preventive care.
