Travel RN Job Details Location: Petersburg, VA 23805 (Richmond area) Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) Start Date: December 15, 2025 End Date: March 14, 2026 Duration: 13-week contract Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Week: 36 Schedule: Every other weekend, 1 major holiday Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,880 - $2,020 Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Unit Details: 30-bed mixed Med/Surg Telemetry unit; float to other MS/Tele units as needed Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required) BLS certification (required) Minimum 1 year recent acute care RN experience (required) At least 1 year of travel nursing experience (required) Successful completion of dysrhythmia exam (study guide available) Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and provide proof of address Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience; CAPD experience preferred Ability to float to other Med/Surg Tele units as needed RN Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policies Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and communicate with families Monitor and manage patients with multi-system organ failure, trauma, and complex medical conditions Operate clinical equipment: Alaris pumps, Hercules beds, BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomies, chest tubes, tube feeds Provide pre- and post-hemodialysis care, including CAPD Perform phlebotomy and collaborate with CNAs and sitters as needed Maintain patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives Educate patients and families, advocate for patient choices, and support coping with illness or injury Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and compassionate, relationship-based care Discover rewarding travel nursing jobs in Virginia and experience the charm of Petersburg while making a difference as a valued member of our healthcare team.
