ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: ICU - Intensive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: 02/02/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelOpportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (4x12s available by request) • Float pool position covering ICU, PCU, and Medical/Surgical units • Must be comfortable working all three specialties with ratios up to 1:5 • May float 2-3 times per shift as staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours • Weekend requirement: EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block • Must work one holiday per 13-week contract • Patient ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1, MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1) • EPIC charting system experience required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • 2 years ICU experience from large L1/L2 facility required • Must be skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, cardiac monitoring required • Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation, titrating cardiac drips, emergency response • Experience managing continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, IV insulin protocols • 24 hours of orientation provided • May work without CNA support • Can be called off 1 shift per 2-week period Facility: This is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital serving as the flagship facility of a major healthcare system. The facility is the region's only Level I Trauma Center for both adults and pediatrics and holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The hospital is affiliated with a medical school and features advanced specialty care, a dedicated children's hospital, and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
