American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med SurgDiscipline: RNStart Date: 12/08/2025Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position with rotating night and occasional day shifts, requiring an IA or compact RN license and Epic EMR experience. Responsibilities Work in a 24-bed Med/Surg unit within a hospital settingCare for med/surg, neurology, and oncology patientsTypical patient ratios are 1:5 on days/evenings and 1:6 on nightsFloat between Med/Surg and Stepdown units as neededShifts are 3x12 hours per week, primarily nights, with occasional day shifts as neededEvery other weekend work required with rotating holiday coverageNo on-call responsibilityUses Epic EMRFirst-time travelers with at least 2 years relevant experience are welcome to applyMust work 2 out of 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or ThanksgivingLimited to 1 day off request between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26 regardless of holidays workedTeam members must float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units based on staffing needsMust provide one supervisory reference from within the past 2 years for consideration Requirements Active IA or compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS (AHA) certification requiredMinimum of 2 years Med/Surg experienceExperience with Epic EMR requiredExperience administering heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone requiredExperience caring for med/surg, neurology, and oncology patient populations Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-633363.
