Lead Paramedic

Location: Joint Base San Antonio, TX
Customer: Special Warfare Training Wing (SWTW)

Summary

Join GDIT and own your opportunity to support a critical Air Force Special Warfare training mission. As the Lead Paramedic, you will provide oversight and coordination for paramedic staff supporting the Special Warfare Training Wing at Joint Base San Antonio. You will use advanced life support skills and clinical oversight to ensure continuous medical coverage, standardized care, compliant documentation, and effective coordination with government medical and operational leadership. In this role, you function as a key link between on‑scene medical response and the broader healthcare system, under established medical direction and applicable national/state paramedic guidelines.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Develop and manage work schedules for all assigned paramedics to ensure uninterrupted medical coverage during training operations and high‑risk events.
• Disseminate clinical directives from privileged providers to contract paramedics to maintain standardized patient care protocols during field and training events.
• Establish medical coverage plans and staffing for designated training and high‑risk activities in coordination with government leadership.
• Audit paramedic patient encounter records to verify compliance with Government documentation standards and GDIT quality requirements.
• Direct administrative actions for contracted paramedics (coverage, scheduling, training requirements) and provide status updates to the Government supervisor and COR to maintain operational awareness.
• Keep HPSG, SWTS, Operations Manager, and SWOMS leadership informed of paramedic and medical preceptor activities related to student care, escalating issues as needed.
• Provide a weekly non‑PII summary report of paramedic treatments and activities to designated SWTW/HPSG leadership, or enter equivalent information into the Human Performance Utilization Tracker (HPUT) or similar approved database.
• Promote compliance with GDIT Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and customer safety requirements while supporting field operations and training events.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Licensure and Certifications

• Current National EMT‑Paramedic Certification (National Registry) or state EMT‑Paramedic license at the paramedic level or higher.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Training / Systems Experience

• Familiarity with and ability to access and use Department of Defense medical data systems, such as:MHS GENESIS (electronic medical record)Aeromedical Services Information Management System (ASIMS)Aeromedical Information Management Waiver Tracking System (AIMWTS)Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)Health Artifact and Image Management Solution (HAIMS)
• Experience with medical records review, including military diving‑related documentation and quality control.

Board Certification / Program Completion

• Successful completion of a CAAHEP‑accredited paramedic program (or a program that has been issued a CoAEMSP “Letter of Review”) within the past two (2) years.
