Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work in an onsite hospital environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Our facility fosters a culture of innovation and compassion, where patient care is a collaborative effort. You will be working full-time, contributing approximately 40 hours each week, with a typical schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, with the possibility of occasional weekend and evening shifts to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining detailed health histories and performing physical examinations to evaluate women’s health issues.
• Developing, documenting, and communicating individualized plans of care to effectively manage patient conditions.
• Performing daily patient rounds, ensuring vigilant monitoring and timely medical interventions.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and laboratory work to determine patient conditions and tailor treatment plans accordingly.
• Collaborating with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and continuity of care.
• Ensuring thorough documentation of patient encounters, including discharge summaries, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions to facilitate post-discharge care.
• Providing education and resources to patients regarding health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic illnesses.
• Performing additional related duties as necessary to support overall patient and organizational goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on women’s health, including gynecological, obstetric, and age-related health issues. You will engage with a diverse patient population, advocating for their health and wellbeing through holistic and patient-centered approaches. Our practice is dedicated to empowering women by promoting health literacy and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program is required along with National Board Certification in a relevant specialty.
• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in New York State along with a valid Registered Professional Nurse license is mandatory.
• At least one year of relevant practice experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience is necessary, candidates who possess direct experience in women's health settings or specialty clinics will be given preference. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and a commitment to patient advocacy will greatly enhance the candidate's profile.
