Conducting Examinations: Perform non-invasive vascular tests, including ultrasound and Doppler studies, to assess blood flow and detect vascular diseases or disorders. Image Analysis: Evaluate images and data to identify abnormalities, providing preliminary findings to assist physicians in diagnosis. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance. Documentation: Prepare detailed reports summarizing test results for medical staff review. Patient Education: Inform patients about procedures and address any questions or concerns to ensure comfort and understanding. Certification and Licensure Requirements by State:Certification and licensure requirements for vascular technologists vary across the United States:States Requiring Licensure: As of now, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, and Oregon have enacted legislation mandating licensure for sonographers, including vascular technologists.
