Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg LTAC position requiring 2+ years of current LTACH experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the LTAC unit within a long-term acute care hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
- Uses Meditech EMR
- Night shift rotation of 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), alternating weekly for 84 hours per two-week period
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active KY or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of current LTACH experience required
- MS/Tele or ICU experience preferred
- Meditech charting experience preferred
- Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Middle name required for consideration
- Copy of unexpired driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
- 2 professional references required: 1 Charge or higher and 1 supervisor, both completed within the last year
- Copy of certifications required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted, though medical and religious exemptions may be approved case-by-case
Additional Information
- Provide care for complex LTAC patients including ventilator management, wound care, and cardiac monitoring
- Skilled in respiratory care including ABG interpretation, ventilator weaning, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Familiarity with renal, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and neurological patient care
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; no local candidates accepted
- Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront; no changes accepted once approved
- Must work a major or minor holiday during the assignment
- Travel pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
- Travelers returning after a prior assignment must take a minimum 6-month break before becoming eligible again
- This is a single 13-week contract with no extensions approved
