American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Concord, North Carolina.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med Surg / TelemetryDiscipline: RNStart Date: 01/19/2026Duration: 13 weeks48 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a teaching hospital with a focus on cardiac and PCU patient care and a 50-mile radius rule. Responsibilities Work in a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit transitioning to PCU focusPatient population includes heart failure, chest pain, COPD, cardiac cath pre/post, and medical overflowRN patient ratios: 1:4-6 (MedSurg/Tele), up to 1:7-8 during surge, and 1:4 (PCU)Every other weekend requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesTravelers will work 75% of holidaysFloating required within Region 1 facilities and scope of practiceUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitorsShift options include 0645-1915 and 1845-0715 on a 6-week schedule cycleResponsibilities include performing cardiac rhythm interpretation, managing telemetry patients, and providing PCU-level careCollaboration with CNAs for ADLs, mobility, and basic patient care tasksCharge nurse may or may not have an assigned patient loadPhlebotomy is performed collaboratively between RNs, CNAs, and the IV teamOrientation includes two departmental days plus facility onboardingProfessional and team-oriented unit cultureScrub color is navyUp to 6 days of requested time off can be approved, not including holidays, with requirements to add missed days to contract endFree parking is available on site Requirements Active NC or compact RN license requiredMinimum 18 months recent Med/Tele RN experience requiredBLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications requiredExperience with PIV starts, NG tube placement, management of surgical and chest drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titratable cardiac drips, and TR bands requiredEpic charting experience preferredFirst-time travelers not acceptedCandidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the home unit Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-649733.
