Responsibilities Work in a float pool covering Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units (PCU) across two hospital campusesPatient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, post-cardiac procedure, and post-op cardiac patientsNurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 in PCU and 1:5-6 in Med/Surg TeleCare involves titrating drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and InsulinUse of monitoring equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High Flow Oxygen in PCUCharting is done using Cerner EMRBoth stepdown and telemetry monitoring required; nurses must read and interpret stripsNight shift, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, with scheduling managed by the float pool coordinatorFloat assignments include notification 2 hours prior to shift start and may require travel between campuses approximately 20-25 minutes apartNo call or standby requirementsNurses will provide care for a diverse patient mix in Med/Surg, Tele, and PCU units, including inpatient holding in the EDCharge nurses are present and do not take patient assignments, and nurse aides are available on all unitsOrientation includes a general hospital introduction plus unit-specific orientation shifts at each campusTravelers are included in the regular staff holiday rotationProfessional scrub attire required; navy scrubs per facility guidelines starting in OctoberMonitor techs are present to assist with telemetry, but nurses are expected to interpret strips themselvesBlock scheduling may be available for night shift assignmentsFailure to pass the dysrhythmia or sterile technique assessments leads to ineligibility for future assignments for 6 months at specific facilities Requirements Active AZ or compact state RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in a PCU/stepdown settingCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMust pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contractExperience managing titratable drips and reading/interpreting telemetry stripsMust not have worked full time, part time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity) within the past yearPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facilityDriver’s license must be provided for address verificationTwo recent professional references required, including one supervisor reference within the last 12 months Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-657975.
