Responsibilities Position is in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a teaching hospitalUnit has 36 beds with an average daily census of 33 patientsPatient population includes general med/surg, post-operative, bariatric, orthopedic, and surgical trauma casesRN to patient ratio is 1:6Requires floating to sister med-surg units (7N and 7S) with the same ratios and expectationsTelemetry monitoring is utilizedEMR systems used are Encompass and EPICRequired to work every other weekendNo on-call responsibilitiesShift is 0700-1930Travelers will work 75% of holidaysResponsibilities include caring for a diverse post-operative and med/surg patient population and providing telemetry monitoringSupport staff includes CNAs, a charge nurse, phlebotomy, 24/7 RT, 24/7 hospitalist, and 24/7 intensivist coverageOrientation includes facility-wide and two days of unit-specific trainingScrub color is royal blueFree parking availableUnit culture is described as strong and supportive with strong leadership and work ethicRTO requests require Resource Team approval Requirements Active NC or compact RN license requiredMinimum of 1 year recent experience in Med/Surg Tele nursingCertifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSSGeneral med/surg patient care experience requiredExperience with EMR systems Encompass or EPIC preferredPrevious travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-646297.
