Responsibilities Work as a PCU/MS Float RN covering all PCU and Medical-Surgical units in a hospital settingAssignment consists of night shifts (3x12 hours, 6:45pm-7:15am) with option for 4x12s upon requestFrequent floating required, with possible reassignment every 4 hours up to 2-3 times per shiftPatient ratios average 5:1 in PCU and 6:1 in MS units, possibly flexing up to 7:1Epic charting experience is requiredWeekend requirement: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule blockMust cover one holiday per 13-week contractResponsibilities include providing advanced nursing care for PCU and MS patients and responding to rapid response/code situationsMust be comfortable floating to all related units within the float pool as neededTeam environment within a large, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospitalFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionLocal candidates are eligible for considerationMust provide two professional references for considerationAll requests for time off or schedule preferences must be submitted up frontFacility may call off up to one shift every two weeks per contract policy Requirements Active VA or Compact RN license required, or pending license with single-state RN status from a non-compact stateCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications requiredPrior experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administrationProficient in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support (nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, chest tubes)Experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, titrating cardiac drips, and emergency responseSkilled in managing PCA, heparin protocols, IV insulin, and endocrine/metabolic conditionsBackground in telemetry and stepdown-level patient care, with cardiovascular pre/post cardiac cath experienceEpic EMR experience is required Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-654926.
