ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: PCU - Progressive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: 01/05/2026Duration: 16 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelOpportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM • Every other weekend requirement • Department: CVU (Cardiovascular Unit) • 18-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (1:3 for post-surgical patients in first 24 hours) • Care for patients requiring intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients • Support thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart procedures • Common diagnoses include Cath Lab patients, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR, and cardiac/vascular conditions • Required to titrate drips including Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and blood pressure medications • Must read and interpret telemetry strips with remote tele techs and hardwired capabilities • Float to all same level and lower acuity units • 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation tailored to experience • Pass/fail open book exam on Friday during orientation requiring 90% to pass • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS • 1 year of experience with this patient population required • Navy blue scrub color required • Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas • EPIC charting system • Must be located outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract) Facility: This Level 1 trauma center is a premier academic medical facility offering comprehensive cardiovascular services and advanced cardiac care. The facility features a robust cardiovascular program with specialized units supporting thoracic procedures, electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization, and structural heart interventions. The hospital maintains 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage with cardiology on-call support, along with respiratory therapy services and advanced monitoring capabilities to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
