Key Job Details – Med/Surg Tele RN Job Title: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Location: La Crosse, VA 23950 (Southern Virginia) Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg Telemetry Unit Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract Start Date: November 17, 2025 End Date: February 16, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960 Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend Charting System: Epic EMR Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required at submission) Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (2 years preferred) BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) Experience with Epic charting system Community hospital nursing experience preferred BSN preferred Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) Ability to float within scope as needed Two professional nursing references required Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to diverse patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and respond to rapid response/code teams Perform patient assessments, administer medications, provide wound care, and manage surgical drains and central lines Document care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services) Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions Follow infection control protocols and isolation precautions Complete orientation modules and required training during the first week Experience the welcoming atmosphere and slower pace of La Crosse, VA, while advancing your nursing career in a top healthcare job.
