Here's some of what you will be doing:

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of highly skilled Infrastructure & Platforms Engineers.
  • Hire, train, and onboard new team members, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support employee growth and development.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and continuous learning.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve high levels of performance and exceed expectations.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
  • Develop and implement the team's strategic plan, aligning with the organization's overall technology roadmap and business objectives.
  • Define and prioritize team objectives and projects, ensuring they deliver maximum value to the organization.
  • Monitor team performance against key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall service delivery.
Infrastructure Operations:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the infrastructure environment, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Manage and optimize infrastructure costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant security and regulatory standards.
Technical Oversight:
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current and emerging infrastructure technologies (e.g., cloud computing, virtualization, containerization, automation).
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Project Management:
  • Plan, execute, and monitor infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required level of quality.
  • Manage project risks and effectively resolve issues.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments across the organization, including development, operations, and security teams.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, on technical and project-related matters.
  • Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and committees.
Here's some experience we are seeking:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role within an IT environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization technologies, and server/storage technologies.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Terraform).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent ministry and executive staff professionally and maintain confidentiality.
