Description
The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, program quality, and licensing compliance of multiple Hudson Milestones' Residential programs. This job title is an exempt position as specified in NJAC 12: This position customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more employees; and whose suggestions and recommendations as to hiring and seperation and as to the advancement and promotion or any other change of status of other employees will be given particular weight. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and have been servicing the Hudson County Community for 75 years
We are looking for someone to monitor multiple Hudson County Group Homes. This person should be able to manage periods of high intensity work. It is a truly rewarding position working with and supporting clients as well as serving as a mentor and leader for employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The Director of Residential Services is responsible for compliance oversight of multiple Residential Group Homes. Travels to program locations throughout one of the specified regions and to the administration building in Jersey City, NJ. This person will assist in all aspects of program operations from client intakes to staffing solutions. This person must meet deadlines and managing outcomes to achieve agency financial and personnel requirements as directed.
The Director of Residential Services will work to expand opportunities for client community living and services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. This position will conduct and ensure appropriate staff training and provide mentorships. Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines while monitoring client health, safety, and satisfaction is a crucial part of this role.
Salary in the low to mid 80s with 5K retension bonus after one year. Full benefits package to include PTO, 14 Paid Holidays, Medical/Dental coverage & 401K.

Position Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Psychology or related field. A Master's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience working in residential programs for people with special needs.
- Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in a community residential program including at least one year administrative or managerial experience.
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- CPR certification a plus.
- Must complete medical physical and Mantoux test within (60) days prior to date of employment.
- Must complete Pre-Service Training Module within the first 120 days of employment.
- Must have the ability to communicate with the individuals with whom they are working.
- Must be capable of providing any direct assistance with the individuals with whom they are working.
- Must be free from any physical, emotional or mental functioning limitation or restrictions that would prevent the successful completion of any and all job responsibilities of this job title.
- Must have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours.
