Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Executive Director of Clinical Services reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is a vital member of the hospital leadership team. The Director of Clinical Services participates in planning, policy development and priority setting for the facility; responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical care systems and for patient health outcomes attributable to clinical practice; ensures that clinical policies are consistent with the overall goals of the facility, responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of social services delivered in the hospital system in accordance with accepted standards and laws which apply to clinical services and the governing board of the state of North Carolina; oversees inpatient services to assure continuity and integrity of all clinical services provided to patients; monitors the multidisciplinary treatment team process; monitoring discharge planning and community resource referral. Demonstrates ongoing commitment to the mission, vision and values of the hospital.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
Master's Degree in Human Service Field Relevant to the Position
LCSW-S Required
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years clinical experience required, 2 years in a management capacity; experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings; experience in fiscal management; experience in clinical supervision; experience in crisis, individual, family and group treatment; experience in program development.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current North Carolina Driver's License
- CPI Certification
- Responsible for leading a team of clinical professionals in their efforts to administer excellent patient care.
- Knowledge of short term/stabilization mental health treatment.
- Ensures cohesive functioning of the clinical service line.
- Responsive to the outcomes of clinical care by participation in the development and implementation of improvement solutions.
- Ability to delegate and supervise tasks as required.
- Strategically designs and implements a whole-patient, treatment-based approach while realizing business goals and priorities.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions.
- Understands and analyzes variances and initiates appropriate plans for management; effectively utilizes data and outcomes for decision making.
- Monitors and assesses staff morale to support and atmosphere of teamwork and continuity.
- Ensure that staffing is adequate and adjusts staffing to match census when necessary.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations including The Joint Commission/CMS/OSHA standards.
- Supports a team-based approach in the treatment of patients.
- Maintains collaborative relationships with hospital staff, payers, families, professionals, paraprofessionals, and members of the community.
- Ability to maintain high ethical standards and adhere to HIPAA privacy rules.
- Knowledge of patient census management including staffing ratios and caseloads.
- Good understanding of budget and resources planning in addition to evaluation procedures and methods.
- Management skills which demonstrate the ability to proactively identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Plans effectively for department needs by working with administration.
- Organizational, time management, problem solving, crisis management and team building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, creative, and flexible.
