Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Control-M Migration Specialist with a strong background in Mainframe and UNIX environments to lead the migration of Control-M jobs to AWS. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of job scheduling, automation, and orchestration in Control-M, as well as experience in cloud migration, specifically to AWS. This role requires a deep understanding of the Mainframe and UNIX operating systems and the ability to translate and optimize job workflows in a cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Control-M Job Migration: Lead the migration of Control-M jobs from Mainframe and UNIX environments to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption to existing processes.
Job Analysis and Optimization: Analyze current job schedules and workflows, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure they are fully functional in the AWS environment.
Script Conversion: Convert existing job scripts and processes from Mainframe (JCL) and UNIX (Shell scripts) to AWS-compatible formats and tools.
Testing and Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive testing and validation plans to ensure that all migrated jobs operate correctly in the AWS environment.
Performance Tuning: Optimize the performance of Control-M jobs in AWS, taking advantage of cloud capabilities such as scalability, elasticity, and automation.
Documentation: Create detailed documentation for all migrated jobs, including workflows, dependencies, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, cloud architects, and application developers, to ensure seamless migration and integration.
Support: Provide post-migration support to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during or after the transition.
Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in Control-M job scheduling, automation, and orchestration.
Proficiency in Mainframe (JCL) and UNIX (Shell scripting).
Familiarity with AWS migration tools and services.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and optimize job schedules and workflows, with a focus on performance and reliability.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in resolving issues related to cloud migrations.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
