As the Director of Mens Design, you will have the opportunity to bring creative designs to life and further establish our thriving men's business.

Role Overview

As the Director of Mens Design, you will have the opportunity to bring creative designs to life and further establish our thriving men's business. In this role, you will use your knowledge of trends to bring product designs that's relatable and affordable to market. With an excellent eye for fashion, styling, and trend, we entrust you to deliver products that reflect NovaMEN aesthetic through the lens of the customers. You will lead, manage, and execute the seasonal design process, and own design research. We're looking for an inspiring leader and communicator to manage the men's design team and collaborate with key partners in buying, product development, and creative studio. As a leader within our Design team, you're a seasoned design team builder, developer of talent, and cross-functional collaborator, that fosters people first, egoless culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the design creation process from concept to proto.
  • Collaborate with our Buying team to design and develop products that meets the needs of our growing Men's business.
  • Partner with Product Development team on pre-season fabric sourcing and vendor allocation.
  • Partner with Technical Design on fits/silhouettes and garment construction.
  • Able to create and support the following: styling details, fabric briefs, concept boards, color palettes, product guides and seasonal design documents.
  • Responsible for managing calendar, deadlines and data integrity of development and design materials through techpacks.
  • Align on design KPIs i.e. adoption rate, product sell-through
  • Collaborative partner to our Product Development Team on special projects that support NovaMEN Initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships with buying, product development, as well as with cross-functional partners.
  • Build and lead a high-performance team, providing coaching and development opportunities. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes excellence.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of product design experience is required and product development experience with an understanding of managing product from concept to proto.
  • Excellent Computer Drawing skills for technical and construction detail sketches & related art using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with emphasis on Google/Google docs
  • 5 + years of experience leading and managing teams.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, motivation and thrive in a collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional at relationship management and prioritization.
  • Exceptional team leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership; ability to work with and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment.
