Senior Manager Business Applications

As a Senior Manager of Business Applications with Sporting Life Group, you will focus on Retail, Supply Chain, and Finance to oversee the strategy, implementation, and optimization of business applications across these critical functional areas. Sporting Life Group is a leading Canadian sports lifestyle retail organization comprising iconic banners, Golf Town, Sporting Life and Team Town Sports.
Within this role you will closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that business applications align with organizational goals, drive efficiency, and support business growth by ultizing your expertise in technology, business processes, and strong leadership to manage a team while collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality business solutions.
- Lead and manage the Business Applications team that builds and supports the ERP and POS systems across Finance, Supply Chain, and Retail.
- Design and improve the ERP system, aligned with the technology roadmap.
- Solve and recommend solutions for complex scenarios within an agile framework or waterfall project structure.
- Configure new application features and deprecate existing features as needed.
- Lead the creation of technical documentation including Functional Design Document (FDD), Solution Design Document (SDD), solution blueprints, release notes, etc.
- Maintain expert level knowledge of the ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, and other integrated systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve system capabilities that enhance the user experience and drive efficiencies in the business.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the organization and collaborate to implement business systems and processes.
- Work closely with the technical delivery team to plan team capacity, and ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Assist with major system upgrades or local custom deployments.
- Develop test cases scenarios and assist with UAT.
- Resolve system issues and serve as an escalation path for critical issues.
- Mentor team members and develop their system knowledge.
- University degree in relevant discipline or equivalent of experience.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience implementing ERP solutions.
- Minimum 5+ years experience managing a team and leading the design efforts on complex projects.
- Minimum of 2+ full ERP implementations.
- Prior experience in retail, apparel, and sporting goods is preferred.
- D365FnO certification required.
- Prior program experience Salesforce technologies considered an asset.
- Experience with cloud-based solutions, integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills.
