Rowe Elementary/Middle School is a stand alone charter school, with a K-5 campus, and a 6-8 campus. Both campuses are located in the West Town/Wicker Park area of Chicago. Beginning this fall, we will reconfigure our campuses to be K-3 and 4-8.

Position Purpose:
- Under the direction of the Director of Diverse Learning and Rowe School Administration, the school psychologist assists students by screening for early intervention and identification as well as administering diagnostic and curriculum -based assessments as a member of the behavioral health and MTSS teams. Psychologists also provide crisis intervention as well as individual and group intervention services supporting mental health issues for students, school personnel and community/family. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Essential Functions
• Provide screening for early intervention and identification.
• Administer diagnostic and curriculum-based assessments.
• Provide crisis, individual and group interventions as appropriate.
• Conduct professional development/training and workshops for teachers, administrators, and other school personnel.
• Provide consultative services related to school and problem solving in the areas of instruction and social/emotional learning and behavior.
• Assist with the coordination of community referrals, language and culture, etc.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Knowledge of Social Psychology principles, theories, testing, methods, etc. as well as proven behavior management methods.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile
Applicants must have been awarded from an accredited college or university a master's degree in school psychology. Applicants must also hold a valid Type 73 State of Illinois School Service Personnel Certificate with an Endorsement School Psychology. (Note: Certificate(s) must show a current registration date.)
Experience:
- Successful prior SCHOOL psychologist experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
