Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Assembler I, in our Light Rail department, you will play a crucial role in our dynamic production environment. Your responsibilities will include supporting a variety of tasks and assembling the final components of our locomotives. What your day will look like:
  • Mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies (according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions).
  • Reading and understanding assembly drawings, bills of materials, and assembly instructions.
  • Safely using hand and power tools. Some certifications may be required to operate cranes, forklifts, etc.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components as required.
  • Perform tasks requiring knowledge of various processes, operations, and equipment.
  • Complete work order documentation, quality documents, and clock your labor hours.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other team members.
  • Follow all safety requirements using all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    For your safety, we require:
    • A High School Diploma or GED.
    • Ability to read and understand written instructions and communicate using the English language.
    • Proven experience as a General Mechanic and/or have an Electrical background.
    • Understanding of metric system measurements (preferred).

      • Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

      • Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
      • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

          This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The starting pay for this role is $20.00 per hour. This is a first shift position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
