The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and two to five years of experience with high voltage substation design. Substation design encompasses distribution, sub-transmission and transmission level voltage classes. Experience with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor is preferred. Some travel will be required for this role. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible work schedule (hybrid or remote) is available.Typical responsibilities include: Prepare one-lines, installation plans, section views, and details for power substation equipmentPrepare schematics, panel elevations, panel wiring diagrams, and interconnection diagrams for the protective relaying & control schemes for power substation equipmentPerforms research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection Perform complex engineering calculations/studies related to substation projects such as: lightning protection, conduit fill, AC/DC station service loading, surge arrester sizing and voltage dropCreate RTU control, status and analog point lists, raceway/cable schedules along with maintenance/signage and nameplatesDevelop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design (protective relays) and/or physical design with an emphasis on continuous improvementAssist in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standardsProvide some technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplinesInitiates contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the workMay perform QA/QC responsibilitiesAttend client and project meetingsMaintain excellent client relationsUnderstands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.Maintain a safe working environmentEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering requiredSkills/Experience:2- 5 years of experience with high voltage substation design is requiredKnowledge of utility standards, NESC, and an understanding of construction techniques is requiredExposure to Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor is preferredEIT (Engineer in Training) in pursuit of obtaining PE LicenseCandidate must be willing to travel
