Description Hello Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as a per diem Caregiver Supervisor. As a statewide nonprofit nonprofit serving seniors, families and children in need of support, we take a whole-person approach to our organization and delivery of our services because we believe we must find the strengths in people and build on these for lasting change to occur.   As a Caregiver Supervisor with the Saginaw Senior Living Campus with Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Saginaw. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Saginaw County to provide services to seniors. In this position, you'll bring a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license registered with the State of Michigan - required. You will also bring additional experience as a caregiver/CNA supervisor and experience working with seniors in a long-term care setting.    Accepting applications until December 13th, 2025.                     As a Caregiver Supervisor, you will:                                Work to provide coverage 24 hours per day and 7 days per week for call-ins andarranges fill-in staffing as applicable in coordination with the schedulerDirectly supervises a team of assigned Caregivers on the shiftIndirectly supervises other Caregivers on the shiftWork as a Caregiver and/or MAP in assigned location in additions to team leaderdutiesEnsure adequate supplies are available for caregivers; reports ordering needs tosupervisorDocument and counsels caregivers on areas in which they need improvementProvide performance reviews to caregivers in collaboration with Wellness NurseEnsure new hire and training requirements, including annual trainings, are completed and reviewed withAssess residents’ needs, refers for treatment as needed and communicates medical issues and changes to Wellness NurseCollaborate with Wellness Nurse on all medication issues, errors and/or problems as they ariseEnsure medication error reports are completed and reported to the Wellness NurseWorks as a MAP – sets up, administers and records medicationEnsure daily tasks of Caregivers are completed on time and to the establishedstandardsProvide and receives report from other shiftsCoordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of the CaregiversEvaluate and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniquesIdentify staff development and training needs and ensures training is deliveredMaintain records and prepares reportsProvide assistance to the Wellness Nurse in updating care plansUphold the high standards of resident care by monitoring and ensuring the conditions of health, comfort, safety and well-being of residents and others while providing and maintaining a clean and attractive resident care areaEvaluate, with staff, the effects of interpersonal relationships with their team andresidents and works with them to maintainMaintain a presence on units/halls to be available for assistance and coaching asneededAct as first responder for falls or injuries of residents while ensuring incident reports are properly completed with timely interventions implementedReview employee incident reports and refer to treatment as needed.
