Software Engineer – UAS Systems

Griffon Aerospace, a leader in the exciting Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) industry, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing software development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C++ or C# development, with experience in embedded systems, flight software, or ground control systems for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This role involves the design, implementation, and testing of software that supports UAS flight control, simulation, telemetry, and operator interfacesDESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCEExperience developing or integrating UAS simulation environments (e.g., PX4, JSBSim, Gazebo, SITL)Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and Agile software developmentFamiliarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLabExperience working with sensors, payloads, or telemetry dataExposure to avionics systems, flight controllers, or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testingActive DoD clearance is a plusREQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldProficient in C++ and C#, with experience in real-time or embedded systemsUnderstanding of UAS platforms or autonomous systemsFamiliarity with version control systems such as GitExperience with multithreaded development, message buses, or network protocols (UDP, TCP, MAVLink, DDS)U.S. Citizen eligible for DoD security clearanceJOB LOCATIONMadison, Alabama, United StatesPOSITION TYPEFull-Time/RegularCOMPENSATION/BENEFITSCompetitive Salary/Comprehensive Benefits PackageUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIREDNoSECURITY CLEARANCEYes, ability to gain and maintain a secret clearance.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
