Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre Temporary Faculty PoolThe Department The Dance, Music, and Theatre department offers the following concentrations and degree options: The department offers a Dance Major and Minor. See the Dance Program website information: The department offers a BA degree with Concentrations in Music Studies, Composition, Performance, and Music Education. We teach piano, voice, guitar, and all orchestral instruments. Ensembles include Choirs, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Humboldt Symphony, Percussion Ensembles, Jazz Combos, and Chamber Ensembles. Experience: Successful teaching experience at the college level and/or professional work experience related to the appropriate field is required. Preference will be given to those who can provide evidence of teaching effectiveness via evaluation of supervisors or colleagues, the ability to work within the program and stated goals of the Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre. Music The minimum qualification to teach any of the courses listed below is a Master’s degree, with preference given to applicants with a Doctorate. Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience. The full-time (15 weighted teaching units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules below are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six (6) monthly payments for each full semester. The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges: $5,507 - $6,677 $6,221 - $13,224 $6,825 - $14,523 Appointees are typically placed at the beginning of the range. There are also many opportunities at Humboldt to conduct research, teaching and community work on Native American history and cultures, with resources in Special Collections at the Cal Poly Humboldt library.
