ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Address health maintenance and treat conditions that occur in everyday life, including common illnesses, injuries, and chronic diseases. Elicits and records information about patient’s medical history. Orders or executes various diagnostic tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition. Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health and plays a role in preventing diseases through vaccinations, screenings, and health education. May provide prenatal care to pregnant women and provides postnatal care to mothers and infants. May perform surgical office procedures. Refers patients to medical specialists for consultant services when necessary for further diagnosis or treatment. Communicates effectively with patients, explaining procedures, discussing test results, and providing health advice. Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, social workers, and specialists. Additional clinical or administrative duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Executive Officer to promote the success and welfare of the organization. Maintains a courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude in dealing with co-workers and patients and their families ensuring professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Regular and Prompt attendance at work. All other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision of mid-level providers (P.A.’S, N.P.’S) QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
