Presently, American Golf oversees the management of over 70 premier facilities across the United States,providing exceptional service and experiences to avid golfers and enthusiasts alike.We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, continually striving to exceed expectations and set new standards in the golf industry.Our team of skilled professionals is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of course upkeep,ensuring that each visitor to our facilities has an unparalleled experience.Job PurposeThe Director of Golf is responsible for maintaining an excellent private club golfing experience for members and guests by providingmanagement, marketing, and merchandise services to maximize golf operations.ResponsibilitiesEnhance member relations by working with General Manager and department managers to deliver exceptional golf experiencesOversee the organization and promotion of lesson programs, junior golf programs, golf leagues, club competitions, group and individual programs; coordinating with Tournament Director or Event Coordinator on all aspects of event preparationManage golf operations staff by recruiting, selecting, hiring, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, supervising, evaluating, andcarrying out disciplinary actions as necessaryEnsure playability of the golf courseCreate and follow an annual departmental budgetWork closely with marketing management to maintain competitive market knowledge, and to create and develop promotions andspecial events to increase revenue opportunitiesOversee golf merchandise operations, including purchasing, pricing, and display; creating merchandise sales, promotions, anddiscounts; preparing inventory and cost of sales reportsMaintain knowledge of teaching methodologies in the golf industryUtilize “ACE Service Absolutes” by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking all members and guestsAssist General Manger in the delivery of staff meetingsImplement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by managementSupport the sales process with booking and re-booking golf tournamentsOther duties may be assigned by management Additional InformationPGA Class A Professional required2 or more years’ experience teaching the game of golf3-4 years’ experience in a management roleBasic math skillsEducationHigh School Diploma requiredSkills/Abilities/Personal CharacteristicsFlexibilityAdvanced Verbal and Written CommunicationBusiness AnalyticsNegotiationResolve ConflictTeamworkTime ManagementCollaborationDecision makingThoroughnessEfficiency Working ConditionsDays and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk,balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull.
