OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS IHA and St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor (SJMAA) have an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the hospital medicine team located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The selected candidate will collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to provide inpatient care to IHA Hospital Medicine patients, including those located within the Michigan Saint Joes (MSJ) unit at SJMAA, which is staffed by Michigan Medicine hospitalists. IHA Hospital Medicine and Michigan Medicine Hospitalist programs are rapidly growing, dynamic, and evolving groups. The two institutions are committed to this innovative collaboration which serves the community at large. The hospitalists care for complex internal medicine patients that have needs ranging from observation, general care, to intermediate care patients. Clinicians care for patients with a wide range of illnesses and system-based problems, ranging from malignancies to cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and multi-system disease. The provider will collaborate with the physicians and other health care professionals to provide medical services including direct patient care, medical record documentation and follow-up care to IHA Hospital Medicine patients. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will operate within the standards of care and scope of practice as defined by the State of Michigan. In addition, the provider will collaborate with the physician overseeing the 26 inpatient bed unit, MSJ, to triage and accept patients to the unit, admit patients, as well as provide cross-coverage responsibilities.
