Your work will focus on assessing clients' psychological needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions to promote emotional well-being and resilience. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of support for clients experiencing crisis, behavioral health issues, or life transitions. This role demands a commitment to fostering a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore and overcome their challenges. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to improving the overall mental health outcomes and quality of life for the diverse population served by Dallas Behavioral Health.Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LCDC or equivalent.Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling, including individual and group therapy.Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and behavioral health principles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a behavioral health or community mental health setting.Specialized training or certification in family therapy, anger management, or trauma-informed care.Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation standards.Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse cultural populations.Continuing education in emerging therapeutic modalities and mental health best practices.Responsibilities:Conduct thorough psychological assessments to identify client needs and appropriate therapeutic approaches.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating counseling psychology, psychotherapy, and behavioral health techniques.Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions addressing issues such as anger management, crisis intervention, and life transitions.Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly, maintaining detailed and confidential clinical documentation.Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care and support services.Skills:The required skills such as counseling psychology, group therapy, and mental health counseling are essential for conducting effective assessments and delivering tailored therapeutic interventions that address clients’ unique needs. Family therapy and psychotherapy skills enable the therapist to work holistically with clients and their support systems, fostering healthier relationships and coping mechanisms. Crisis intervention and anger management expertise are critical for managing acute situations and helping clients develop strategies to regulate emotions and behaviors. Life transitions and behavioral health knowledge support the therapist in guiding clients through significant changes and challenges, promoting resilience and adaptive functioning. Preferred skills like trauma-informed care and cultural competence enhance the therapist’s ability to provide sensitive, inclusive, and effective treatment in a diverse healthcare environment.
