Amazon Web Services’ Hardware Engineering team is looking for experienced professionals to help build the world’s premier cloud computing platform. We are looking for Manufacturing Engineers who are capable of operating in a fast paced, ever changing, multi-platform international manufacturing and production environment. Our Manufacturing Engineers work closely with our ODMs, CMs, internal AWS hardware and software development teams, and with upstream component vendors to monitor and improve the incoming hardware quality of AWS products both proactively in the design phase as well as monitoring, reporting and investigating any early-life product failures. This role requires the engineer to be a technical contact and take on full ownership of the manufacturing launch and resolution of process issues. You will be the driver in getting production up and running, understanding root cause of hardware failures and resolving gaps in our suppliers manufacturing processes. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field- 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with PCBA manufacturing, assembly, or test processes- 3+ years of experience working with PCBA manufacturing suppliers (ODMs/CMs) to improve incoming quality of electronic assemblies- Experience with surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole assembly processes, and PCBA manufacturing and test methodologiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production- Experience with the project management of technical projects- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques- Knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), or regulatory requirements or standards- Experience with server, networking, or cloud infrastructure PCBA manufacturing and testing- Knowledge of motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE), in-circuit test (ICT), functional test, and boundary scan technologies- Experience with failure analysis techniques and root cause analysis for PCBA-related issues- Knowledge of component engineering and supplier quality processes- Experience working in regulated environments with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100)Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
