Ideal candidates are self-motivated and able to manage their time effectively.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Strategic Sourcing Specialist to be responsible for leading pre-sales logistics requirements and strategy. The role is focused on strategic logistics activities and will lead efforts with transportation partners and warehousing. This person will drive cost downs through current and new partnerships. They will manage trade, customs and policy with customs and border patrol and provide suggestions on tariff and duty mitigation. In addition to logistics responsibilities, this role will also assist the Director of Strategic Sourcing in special projects and day to day quoting activities.The person must be a self-starter and manage their time efficiently. This role requires strong leadership qualities and will report in to the Director of Sourcing.Day to day tasks include meeting with suppliers, negotiating costs, creating and analyzing data through the ERP and other resources. They will run RFQs, create delivery schedules give awards to logistics partners. They will provide guidance and leadership to the team and drive their own priorities.Long term tasks and responsibilities will include development of documentation and processes to scale the business. This individual will need to create and manage a portal (with help of other groups) that allows details to easily be shared with customers or a systematic release of data in live environment with the goals of transparency to partners. This person will be responsible for analyzing input and output, creating reports and documentation to streamline processes throughout the company from logistics perspective. They will develop and communicate deficiencies and drive continuous partner management to improve long term costing and efficiencies with logistical suppliers. This person will make decisions about warehousing requirements for current and future products. The role is not limited to these activities, opportunities will arise to take on additional sourcing responsibilities for various categories. The individual will work collaboratively with the supply chain team, engineering, sales, leadership, and Nevados suppliers. They will be expected to take leadership in accomplishing tasks and lead meetings with the internal team, suppliers, customers and organize thoughts and release notes with open items and actions to stakeholders.Preference may be given to candidates local to San Diego or Orange County who are able to train in person and observe a hybrid schedule when needed. ResponsibilitiesPlan, forecast, and strategize the growth of the logistics group.Screen and onboard new logistics partners to expend Nevados freight capabilities throughout the United States and globally to develop capability.Create LTA (Long Term Agreements) with current and new partners.Drive SOW documents for awards per project commitment from RFQ through execution and completion.Manage the entire request for proposal process for logisticsManage and execute non-disclosure agreements for logistics partners, Nevados component suppliers, and other third parties. Update & build packaging plan and find efficient ways to provide data to customersManage data and create processes to use data and real-time analysis to make decisions and meet budgets.Create program for easy forecasted delivery expectations to allow sales foresight into planning schedules for customers.Manage and negotiate logistics and warehousing costs with Nevados logistical partners. Drive long term negotiations with current and new logistical partners leadership.Conduct QBRs to validate suppliers are maintaining a high level of performance.Run RFQs and awards for projects and create delivery schedules and effectively hand off to execution teamDrive optimization of the BOM tool and create efficiencies for performance resulting in cost reductions, as it relates to logistics costing.Manage customs and trade policy, working directly with Nevados trade attorney and CBP, when appropriate.Participate in customer meetingsReview packaging and update, with support from engineering, 3rd party packaging partners and supply chain teams to drive costs.Work with operations group on data for findings and manage freight budgetManage routine updates of logistics data into Nevados project quotation tools to allow for expedited project quotations.Develop and conduct continuous improvement on Logistics Standard Operating Procedures and How-To products.Manage non-project logisticsSkillsStrong leadership skillsCritical thinking and adaptabilityStrong communication skillsTime management skillsERP and Microsoft Suite proficiencyOrganizational skills to conduct follow-ups for project successExperience with contractsThis range indicates base salary.
