Join us. We are seeking a Heat Treat Operator to work in our Monroe, NC facility. In this position you are responsible for working independently to heat treat metals to meet customer specifications. You will process metal in a furnace to harden the metals and prepare them for the next stages of the process. A successful candidate will demonstrate an attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Additional Responsibilities Retrieve orders using IME and overhead craneRead and interpret mill orders and other written or verbal instructionsPrepare orders by spraying metals with a dye developer as requiredPreheat furnace to specified temperaturesLoad up to two furnaces with material and monitor the material and temperature during processingRemove treated material from furnace and use specified cooling method (air, water, fan, etc.) to complete the orderCut heat treated samples using an abrasive saw Stage finished material in designated area once the cooling process is completedMove materials from heat treat to next operation and maintain a smooth materials flowKeep up with accurate logs and recordsFollow and implement all prescribed safety rules and regulationsRequirementsBasic Qualifications High School Diploma / GED Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of manufacturing or furnace experience Crane or IME lift experience Skills Basic computer skillsBasic math skillsTime management skillsAbility to prioritize We thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
