Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Radiology Ultrasound Technician to join our partner hospital in Abilene, Texas. This full-time, night shift position offers a unique opportunity to provide critical diagnostic imaging services in a dynamic Level III trauma center environment.
Job Summary:
As a Radiology Ultrasound Technician, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic process, performing a variety of ultrasound scanning procedures to capture detailed anatomical images and identify potential pathology. Your expertise will contribute to accurate and timely patient care, especially during crucial night shift hours.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings and techniques to optimize image quality.
- Explain procedures to patients, address their questions and concerns, and ensure their comfort throughout the examination.
- Identify and document any abnormal findings or suspected pathology.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, adhering to confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
- Collaborate with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology or Ultrasound program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiology Ultrasound Technician.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) eligibility.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Texas Medical Board MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist) certification or ARDMS certification.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
