Job OverviewOperates a multiple of production machines such as saws, presses, drills, and other hand and/or powered equipment, as well as automatic presses and similar equipment which may require raw material to be loaded onto stock reels.A Day In The Life Performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot & perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. Inspect parts to specifications & adjust, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. Sets up & operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures & guidelines. Read & interpret blueprints & diagrams to select, position & secure machinery. Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications & in a timely manner. Make suggestions to supervisors for improvements associated with assigned work. Maintain a clean & orderly work area per Hubbell’s 6S policy. Follow instructions, both written & verbal, from the lead person & production supervisors. Operate all equipment in a safe & efficient manner. Inspect own work for conformity to standards. Assist in other areas as necessary. What will help you thrive in this role? Basic reading & writing. Two (2) years’ experience in manufacturing. Must be able to use precision measuring devices. Display a positive attitude toward his/her work including striving for maximum production & quality of product. Possess self-motivated initiative to improve quantity, quality, & maximum efficiency with all co-workers.
