Job Description Underwrite and manage a portfolio of inland marine accounts, including builders’ risk, contractors’ equipment, transportation, and other specialized property risks. Analyze risk submissions, set terms and conditions, and determine pricing within assigned authority levels. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and industry partners. Negotiate with brokers to secure new and renewal business in alignment with company profitability goals. Collaborate with actuarial, claims, risk engineering, and other internal partners to deliver tailored solutions. Stay informed on market conditions, competitor activities, and emerging risks impacting inland marine. Mentor and support junior underwriters by sharing technical expertise and market knowledge. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; industry designations (CPCU, AMIM, ARM, etc.) preferred. 5–10 years of inland marine underwriting experience, preferably with a mix of middle market and large account business. Strong technical knowledge of inland marine products, forms, and industry-specific risks. Established broker and client relationships in the inland marine market. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative underwriting team.
