This role supports clinical operations by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance.Primary Responsibilities:Receive and process instruments, supplies, and equipment from operating rooms, clinics, departments, and external customers in a timely mannerClean and decontaminate instruments, scopes, and equipment using proper PPE and following established procedures, including manual, ultrasonic, and automated methodsPerform sterilization and high-level disinfection using steam autoclaves, low-temperature systems, and liquid chemical processesComplete and record all required daily quality checks and equipment testsDocument sterilization, high-level disinfection, and related tasks in electronic systems (SPM) or paper recordsFollow AAMI standards and manufacturer instructions for use (IFUs) for all instrumentation and equipment handlingMaintain work areas and equipment in compliance with AAMI standards and IFUsAssist in the orientation and training of new staff within the departmentRequirements:High school diploma or GED1 full year in a Sterile Processing Dept or GI labAbility to move freely, including standing, stooping, bending, walking, and pushing/pullingAbility to lift 24 lbs up to 50 lbs regularlyAbility to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)Preferred Qualifications:Sterile Processing Technician Certification (HSPA)One year of experience in an acute care setting
