The Structural Engineer will perform the following duties but not limited to:Lead the preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and cost estimates related to structural systems for commercial and governmental facilitiesDeliver complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligationsPerform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documentsPerform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, construction inspections, and responding to client requestsWork within a project team environmentMaintain and organize all project related documentationCoordinate work with other project disciplinesPlan and organize work that follows a defined process Work independently and make technical decisions based on building code interpretation as well as company, client, and industry standard practicesAssist department in developing standards and maintaining current code and practice knowledgePerform quality assurance/quality control checking of structural design documents developed by fellow engineersLead a group of engineers and BIM technicians focused on structural and multi-discipline projectsMentor less experienced structural engineers and support career growthSenior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for teamProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by othersParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesDevelops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projectsUses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E packagePerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawings.Prepares technical specification sectionsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBA/BS in civil engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work.Revit experience.Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Blast Resistant structural design experience.Preferred RequirementsAt least 8 or more years of experience with an engineering firm designing structural systems for commercial and institutional facilities.The ability to work with, interpret, and apply national and local building codes.Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing.Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills.Ability to take responsibility for given tasks with limited supervision while proactively developing standard practices and new techniques.Master of Science degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with a structural emphasis.Additional InformationRelocation assistance may be available.Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
