Job Title: Security Manager (varied shifts)Department: SecurityReports To: Security Director Summary Under the direction of the Security Director, manages and coordinates the activities of the Security Department resulting in an efficient and economic operation, supports revenue centers and embraces the mission of Casino Arizona as it relates to quality guest service and interactions. Assures the protection of company assets, reputation and integrity. Assures the overall safety of our guests, employees and property as a whole. Supervises all investigations conducted by security personnel. This job is a Safety Sensitive Position that will be subject to Drug & Alcohol Testing. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises the Security Shift Supervisor, Access Control Specialist, Field Training Officer Supervisor and Security Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include participating in the interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Directs property security personnel in a way that achieves maximum performance, safety, security and customer service.Answers for property specific financial expenditures, payroll, overtime allocations and budgeting.Seeks executive approval for severe disciplinary actions.Responsible for maintaining property staffing levels.Responsible for notification of executive management of any major emergency, critical event or incident that may directly or indirectly have an adverse impact on Casino Arizona or operations.Responsible for the oversight of property specific training.Oversight of property medical supplies and EMT personnel.Oversight of the property Incident Tracking System.Oversight of the property Lost and Found process and the protection of patron property.Oversight of the property bi-weekly payroll records, work schedules and other required documentation.Oversight of altercation; investigates and responds to GL/ WC trends.Oversight of departmental uses of force, detention and self defense is in accordance with SRPMIC standards and expectations.Oversight, administration, and maintenance of the overall key inventory system and access control for the gaming operation and as designated by the Security Director.Oversight of Security internal controls.Coordinates with the appropriate departments or law enforcement agencies for the protection of patrons and employees as it relates to non-regulatory criminal, illegal or undesirable activity.Ensures departmental policies and procedures, the state gaming compact, tribal gaming ordinances, casino policies, applicable state and federal laws and Human Resources policies and procedures are followed.Ensures the physical safety of guests and employees and the protection of guests and the casino from illegal activity.Detains for probable cause persons for the purpose of notifying law enforcement or the appropriate enforcement agent or regulatory authority.Detects illegal activates inside the casino, the parking lot and casino grounds.Observes and reports suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.Ensures that a record is made of any and all criminal activities or violations of the compact or ordinance that occurs in the casino and that all accident, injuries and illnesses brought to the attention of security are properly documented and a copy is sent to the Safety Coordinator.Understands all departments’ policies and procedures and understands when a violation has occurred.Ensures, through subordinate personnel, that all security personnel are properly trained to perform their functions to include first aid and CPR.Attains first reports of injury from employees and investigates the validity of injuries.Approves PTO, shift changes and leaves of absence.Files appropriate department reports and documentation with the Human Resources Director.Prepares annual performance reviews and provide departmental counseling for security personnel.Prepares bi-weekly payroll records, work schedules and other required documentation.Safeguards casino assets and funds.Assists in the preparation of departmental budgets and maintains control of expenditures.Provides depositions/statements and testifies in court, as well as other legal or civil proceedings, to present evidence or act as a witness to unlawful events or activity on behalf of Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort.Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree required; 7 to 10 years management experience in a security, law enforcement or military environment; or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or security related training. Valid Arizona driver’s license required. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent PC skills (candidates may be tested). Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications. Other Qualifications Must possess strong affiliative leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.Must have a strong background and understanding of the concept of relationship building.Must possess strong oral and written skills with good analytical ability.Must have good knowledge of games and casino rules, policies, procedures, internal controls and administration and general knowledge of cheating or other related illegal activities.Must be familiar with use of camera and recording equipment.Must be able to identify unusual, irregular or illegal activities.Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.Must have ability to build relationships with staff, guests and personnel from other departments.Must present a well-groomed appearance.Must have the ability to listen, problem solve, negotiate, use collaboration skills and give oral and written instructions.Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
