Software Engineer II

ABOUT THE ROLECountryPlace Mortgage, a leading nationwide personal property, mortgage and commercial lender with headquarters in Plano, TX, is seeking a Software Engineer II to help grow our Information Technology Department. This in-person role is in our Plano, TX office. The Software Engineer II is responsible for writing code that enhances the loan origination and loan servicing platforms and all ancillary internal and external programs used at CountryPlace Mortgage. This role ensures high availability, data integrity, security, and compliance across all critical mortgage systems, supporting development, testing, and production environments. The Software Engineer II partners with senior IT staff, business, compliance, and vendor teams to ensure reliable integration and performance of mortgage technology solutions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and optimize business solutions and reports with minimal supervision Enhance existing applications by refactoring code, improving performance, and modernizing code Develop and maintain advanced SSRS reports, including parameterized and subscription reports Work closely with business to clarify requirements, propose technical solutions, and estimate effort Integrate systems using REST/SOAP APIs, partner data feeds, and internal services Create reusable code modules, libraries, and tests to improve code quality and maintainability Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to promote development best practices Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, using logging, tracing, and SQL diagnostics Contribute to data validation processes and ensure accuracy across reporting and data pipelines Support junior developers by answering questions, reviewing work, and sharing technical knowledge POSITION REQUIREMENTS, CAPABILITIES, & SKILLS Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Efficient problem-solving and decision-making abilities Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues in a timely manner Strategic thinker with strong research and critical analysis skills Positive, professional, and customer-focused demeanor Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and urgency Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Skilled in cross-departmental communication and change management Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Ability to interpret and apply published rules, regulations, and industry guidelines Experienced in integrating regulatory knowledge into business processes MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or comparable industry experience Minimum 4 years of experience working with object-oriented programming language Minimum 3 years of experience using Visual Studio .NET to create applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient at writing ad-hoc SQL Queries in PL-SQL or T-SQL Strong customer service skills Loan origination/servicing support experience helpful but not mandatory WE OFFER Competitive Salary Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance Paid Holidays 401K Match Generous PTO FSA/HSA Plans Life /Disability/Accidental Insurance and much more Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
