Network Engineer, Senior​The Opportunity:A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable agencies to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? That’s why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs. As a Network Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, troubleshooting, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, virtual routing and forwarding, tactical networks, and SolarWinds, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. The world can’t wait.You Have: 5+ years of experience in a large-scale enterprise network environmentExperience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and secure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs​Experience developing and maintaining network documentation, including topologies, configurations, procedures, and runbooks​Knowledge of TCP or IP stack, routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, or EIGRP, and switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, or port-channeling Ability to manage and optimize network monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues​Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex network performance, connectivity, and security issues across LAN or WANTS/SCI clearanceHS diploma or GEDVendor Certification such as CCNA, CCNP Routing and Switching or Enterprise, Junos Certification (JNCIA), or JNCIP CertificationAbility to obtain a Security+ Certification within 60 days of hire dateNice If You Have: Experience in network automation using scripting languages such as Python and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform ​Experience mentoring junior team members and participating in cross-functional project teamsExperience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts and tools such as Cisco ACI or SD-WANExperience with network security best practices and technologies, including Next-Generation Firewalls such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or Juniper SRX and VPN solutionsAbility to clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders​Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to pay strict attention to detailPossession of excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsBachelor's degreeClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.CompensationAt Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
