The deli clerk must possess reasonable knowledge in storing, preparing, and maintaining deli products. The clerk is also responsible for providing remarkable customer service at all times.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding prepared food operations, safety, and sanitationProvide attentive and courteous customer service by fulfilling customer questions about prepared foods products (i.e.: ready-made meals, packaged salads and subs)Maintain a clean as you go policy to ensure sanitary conditions at all timesAdhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product (i.e.: following recipes and cooking instructions)Maintain proper shelf, cooler, and case conditions, such as stocking, cleaning, and rotating productFollow all store Shrink guidelines with regard to keeping track of all discardsEnsure proper temperatures and working condition of cases (hot and cold) as well as maintaining all equipmentComplete all necessary paperworkFollow direction from the Deli Manager, perform tasks as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be at least 18 years of age to enter/work on the deli side of the departmentEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAbility to read, write, and perform basic math functionsPossess basic computer skillsPossess strong communication skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEQUIPMENT USEDOven/StoveKnives - Must be at least 16 yrs. of ageChicken OvenMust be at least 18 yrs. of ageCash Register FryerMust be at least 18 yrs. of ageCoffee PotPizza Oven - Must be at least 18 yrs. of ageComputerized ScalesMicrowave SlicerMust be at least 18 yrs. of age Food Processor - Must be at least 18 yrs. of ageManual Wrapping Machine Toaster Dishwasher - Must be at least 18 yrs. of age Our Company does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, affection or sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, liability for military service, status as a veteran, gender identity or expression, genetic information, pregnancy, and any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
