Developmental Specialists understand that children learn through play and create individualized, fun, activities to help children learn and grow. Developmental Specialists recognize all families are unique. They partner with families to assure play based strategies are consistent with family priorities and values, create treatment plans, assist families to access resources in their community and advocate for their child and themselves.
Who are we?
The Early Intervention Program at Behavioral Health Network serves children between the ages of birth and three years of age for whom there are developmental concerns due to identified disabilities, or whose typical development is at risk due to certain birth or environmental factors.
What are we looking for in a Developmental Specialist?
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in any Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education or Special Education (required).Experience working with infants, toddlers, and their families.Knowledge of infant, toddler, and child development.Broad knowledge of mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, medical conditions, and/or treatment techniques.Familiarity with and provides services within parameters of DPH regulations.Ability to adapt to a variety of settings and provide activities to the individual accordingly.Strong writing and organizational skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems.Have access to a car to use for work, valid driver's license and safe driving record.Bilingual (Preferred)How do I apply to be a Developmental Specialist?
