OverviewThe Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Director Golf Course Maintenance with the 1st Assistant Superintendent with day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include developing and managing turf grass and plant material maintenance programs; overseeing property and asset management; managing personnel; handling budgeting, forecasting, and financial management; participating in member retention initiatives; scheduling and maintaining irrigation systems; applying pesticides and maintaining related records; and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.Experience RequiredRequired:An associates and/or bachelor’s degree in Turf Management or a related field.A minimum of 3 years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance.A minimum of 1 year of experience in preparing and managing budgets for the golf course and landscape maintenance departments.A minimum of 1 year of technical knowledge of all equipment, products, and resources related to golf course operations.Current State Pesticide Applicators License or successfully completed within 90 days of employment.Valid driver’s license.Preferred:Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and golf course operations procedures.Direct supervisory experience preferred.Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide agronomic oversight for golf course grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant materials.Supervise chemical applications and record-keeping.Oversee the safe operation of golf course mechanical equipment.Maintain the golf course to the highest standards.Control expenses related to golf course operations.Collaborate with the Head Golf Professional to optimize rounds of golf.Regularly communicate with members to ensure their expectations are exceeded.Ensure staff training in OSHA and club safety protocols.Lead and participate in meetings regarding club operations and maintenance schedules.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverageLife insuranceShort-term and long-term disability insurance401(k) retirement savings planGenerous paid time off and leave programs (time off as required by applicable law is also provided for part time team members)
