Place in-shift, and be qualified to do the following related work as assigned: service, or remove from service and operate turbo generator and boiler systems. Check function of governors and controls, and related auxiliary equipment perform simple operations in connection with general test work on boilers. Check bearing temperatures and turbines, pumps and other related equipment for proper operation using some precision hand, bench and power tools. Under close and/or directive supervision, with limited latitude for planning or laying out of working details, must be able to perform simple mechanical work involved in the inspection, repair, installation, test, adjustment and calibration of meters and instruments, and of automatic combustion control equipment and regulating devices in generating stations, must be able to perform simple electrical work involved in the inspection, repair or installation of electrical equipment in generating stations and electrical substations and related equipment in shop or in place, must be able to perform simple mechanical work involved in the inspection repair and installation of mechanical equipment . MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalentAssociates Degree in Process Operations Technology or Instrumentation preferredMust be familiar with elementary principles of mechanical measuring, devices, instruments, controls, and regulating devices as used in generating. Must be familiar with principles of operation, function, and construction of plants. Steam boilers, turbo-generators, pumps, heaters, steam traps, piping systems, pressure and level regulators and their controls and auxiliary systems.
