Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, and internal equity. This leadership role offers the opportunity to advance high-quality cardiovascular care in a collaborative, community-based environment while aligning local operations with the strategic goals of the Mass General Brigham Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) and Mass General Brigham Medical Group (MGB MG). This role combines local program leadership with an active clinical practice in cardiology. About the OpportunityLeadership and clinical role based at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, with responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient cardiology servicesReports to the Chief of Cardiology, Community Division HVI, Regional Medical Director, MGB MG and ACMO of the local community hospitalResponsible for local execution of HVI strategic initiatives, including quality, safety, efficiency, and patient experience metricsOversees clinical operations and provider performance across all cardiology service lines at the Dover campus and affiliated ambulatory sitesCombines administrative leadership (0.1–0.3 FTE) with active clinical practice Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational LeadershipProvide visible on-site leadership and oversight of day-to-day clinical operations across inpatient and outpatient cardiology programsLead efforts to deliver high-quality, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered cardiovascular careSupervise and provide performance feedback to physicians and advanced practice cliniciansServe as a clinical advisor on operational issues, in partnership with the Executive Director, ensuring alignment with MGB standards and best practicesParticipate in rotational call coverage as appropriate to clinical practice Quality, Safety & High ReliabilityChampion a culture of safety, quality, and high reliability within CardiologyLead or support quality improvement initiatives and implementation of system-level goalsServe as on-site physician leader for patient safety, regulatory compliance, and Joint Commission or other regulatory visitsOversee safety event evaluation, mitigation, and improvement processes Program & Strategic DevelopmentCollaborate with hospital and MGB MG leadership to enhance and expand cardiology servicesFoster strong multidisciplinary partnerships with other clinical specialtiesContribute to outreach, marketing, and network development efforts to grow the programSupport programmatic innovation, philanthropy efforts, and alignment with HVI system strategy Medical Staff LeadershipServe as Division Chief per local hospital bylawsAct as a mentor and role model for clinical and administrative colleaguesRepresent Cardiology in institutional leadership forums QualificationsMD or DO degreeBoard certification in Cardiology and relevant subspecialtyEligible for medical licensure in New HampshireMinimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital or large healthcare organizationProven excellence in clinical practice, quality improvement, and team-based leadershipStrong communication, collaboration, and operational management skillsAdvanced business or healthcare administration degree preferred but not requiredExperience within the MGB system strongly preferred About Wentworth Douglass HospitalWentworth Douglass Hospital is a 171 licensed-bed community hospital located in Dover, NH, and a proud member of one of the nation's leading integrated healthcare networks, Mass General Brigham.
