A contract position is available for Resource Room / Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year, serving students in K-12 classrooms. This full-time role is based onsite in an urban district in Michigan and requires dedication to supporting diverse learners in a self-contained or resource room setting.Responsibilities include managing caseloads of up to 22 students, primarily in self-contained classrooms, with possible assignments ranging from early learning (pre-K) through grade 12. Teachers will develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborate with staff and families, and provide tailored instruction to meet each students unique needs. A strong understanding of special education regulations, including the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal guidelines, is essential.Preferred qualifications for this role include: Michigan Teacher Certificate with a Special Education endorsement Emotional Impairment (EI) and Cognitively Impaired (CI) endorsements or Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement for resource room roles Experience working in urban school settings and familiarity with the challenges faced by students and families in such environments Knowledge of special education laws and regulations applicable in Michigan Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment for students with diverse learning needs This full-time contract position runs approximately January 26, 2026, through June 12, 2026, with a 35-hour workweek.
